Athletes can attend at no cost; there will be a $10 charge per additional guest to help cover part of the cost of catering the event. Guest charges are payable by cash or check at the door.

We look forward to seeing you at the team banquet next week! Below are important details:

Dinner and dessert will be served, followed by the team program. As part of the program, athletes will get their varsity letters and the team award winners will be announced.

Athletes are welcome to dress up for the banquet!

State championship competitors: We need you to return your Bobcat swim bags at the banquet. Be sure to sign the inside of the top flap with a black sharpie—small signatures please as we want swimmers and divers to continue to do this each year as the bags travel to the state meet with future Buchholz teams.

Individual messages with confirmation numbers have been sent to families staying at the team hotel; a personal credit card will need to be used to pay for the room upon arrival. Coach rooms will be paid for by the team.

There is no team travel for the State meet. Coaches and athletes must get to the meet on their own.

Meet Timeline
Friday, November 4:
Arrive by: 1:45 pm
Warm-up: 2:00 pm

Saturday, November 5:

PRELIMS Arrive by: 7:00 am Meet start: 9:00 am FINALS Arrive by: 4:10 pm Meet start: 5:30 pm

Note that the top 16 places in prelims qualify to return for finals, including relays, so athletes should check with the coaches before leaving prelims to confirm whether they need to return for the finals session.

Apparel

• Athletes should wear their black 2022 team shirt, last year’s zip hooded jacket,* and their 2022 team sweatpants.
• Athletes should wear TENNIS SHOES to the meets. No flip flops or slides!
• Black team suits or tech suits must be worn for the competition by swimmers. Team caps must be worn if you wear a cap.

*If you do not have your zip hooded jacket from 2021, please contact buchholzswimanddive@gmail.com for one you can borrow for the meet.

What to Bring

• Folding chair (BHS will have a team tent set up on the deck)
• Swim gear (goggles, towels, chamois, nose clips, etc.) in your bobcat State swim bag
• Athletes should bring their own snacks and drinks

Congratulations to the athletes who participated in the Regional meet on Friday and Saturday in Ocala. The BHS women placed 6th and the men placed 8th. Results are attached.

Swimmers should be at the Sailfish Splash Waterpark and Aquatics Center by 2:00 pm on Friday, November 4, for the team warm-up. Absence from school on Friday will be excused. Competition begins Saturday morning; arrival time and other details will follow.

Admission: $9.00 per session with advance purchase & $12.00 the day of (via GoFan)
Parking at venue: $10.00 (all proceeds retained by host organization)

Attached please find a map with directions to the FAST facility for the Regional meet tomorrow. Because the facility is so new, GPS is not always reliable.

Another easy route from Gainesville is:

• South on I-75 to Highway 40 exit.
• Go west on Highway 40 until you get to SW 60th Avenue.
• Go south on SW 60th Avenue until you get to SW 38th Street.
• Turn right onto SW 38th Street and go west until you get to SW 67th Ave. Rd. You will see signs for FAST at this intersection.
• Turn left onto SW 67th Ave. Rd. and continue until you see the FAST facility.
