News and Announcements

Hello Bobcats!

As we start thinking about the 2022 swim season (it will be there before we know it!), remember that all athletes must turn in a completed physical form (EL2) as part of the form packet required for participation in practices and meets.

UF’s Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Institute is offering FREE sports physicals on May 14, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.

A PDF is attached with details, and note that the EL2 form is included in the PDF and must be signed by a parent/guardian before the physical.

Watch for more details on the 2022 season soon!

Hello BHS swimmers and divers!

The school is hosting a breakfast Friday morning (December 10) for varsity athletes who competed in fall sports this year. It is from 7:45 to 8:25 am, in room 4-066 (STUCO room), with the meal being provided by David’s BBQ.

We hope you’ll attend and be celebrated for your hard work this season!

Hello Bobcats!

Congratulations to the BHS athletes who competed Friday at the Class 4A State Championship! They achieved the following results:

Diving:
Alexandra Andueza: 4th place
Casey Greenberg: 6th place
Madison Hevesy: 13th place

Swimming:
Brayden Taivassalo: 5th place in the 200 IM, 2nd in the 100 breast

Full results are attached. Buchholz placed 19th on the women’s side and 23rd on the men’s side, out of more than 70 participating schools.

Reminder: The 2021 banquet for the BHS Swimming and Diving team is tonight at 6:00 PM in the Buchholz Media Center. Dinner and dessert will be served. As part of the program athletes will get their varsity letters and the team award winners will be announced. Athletes are welcome to dress up for the banquet.

Important: Due to COVID restrictions from the district and the school, we have to limit attendance to athletes and coaches only. The booster club board will be there to assist with the meal. We wish we could host the traditional larger gathering for athletes and their families, but are glad that this year we can do something to get the swimmers and divers together. Parents are welcome to come to the school to take photos before the banquet!

Congratulations to all swimmers and divers on their efforts throughout the 2021 season!
